Christy Thompson-Hutt serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Coastal Academy, where she contributes nearly 15 years of expertise in recruiting and talent development. Her career has been dedicated to connecting people with meaningful opportunities, a commitment that aligns closely with the Academy’s mission to prepare students for career success while promoting environmental awareness.

With a strong belief in the power of education and community, she is passionate about supporting programs like the Academy’s Maritime Program and Maritime Club, which equip students with real-world skills and experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

Her service extends beyond the Academy. Since 2018, she has been an active volunteer with AgriLife Master Gardeners, serves as the Volunteer Chair for the annual Hummerbird Celebration, and is Co-Chair of the SeaFair Parade. These efforts reflect a dedication to celebrating and strengthening the coastal community she calls home.

The values of service, perseverance, and compassion were instilled by her family—her father, who proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, her mother, whose encouragement shaped her commitment to community, and her step-father, whose business-minded success taught her the importance of hard work and vision. These influences continue to guide her in both her professional career and community involvement.

Christy is honored to serve on the board, she looks forward to supporting the next generation of coastal leaders as they pursue education, service, and meaningful careers.
