Susan Ocker, a proud resident of Rockport, Texas, brings decades of
experience in education and child development to her role on the Texas
Coastal Academy Board. Together with her husband, Matt Ocker—who grew
up in Rockport—Susan has been a strong advocate for creating a solid
foundation for youth through quality education paired with practical
skills that foster both independence and workforce readiness.

For more than 20 years, Susan owned and operated private preschools in
the Victoria and Buda areas. Her leadership in early childhood
education has impacted countless young lives, instilling confidence,
curiosity, and positive guidance during critical years of development.
She is deeply passionate about nurturing children and equipping them
with the tools to succeed beyond the classroom.

As a parent of two sons who have pursued careers in skilled trades,
Susan has seen firsthand the value of industry-based training. She is
dedicated to reshaping the narrative that success only comes through a
four-year degree and is committed to ensuring Texas Coastal Academy
prepares students for both higher education and meaningful careers in
the trades.
